What is the real-world range of the Nissan Leaf? Autocar tests it (video)

Autocar has tested the Nissan Leaf to check how accurate the maximum range figure given by the Japanese manufacturer is: 109 miles (approx. 175 km).
Jamie Corstorphine, the person in charge of the test, says in the video that the driving style he uses does not follow the guidelines of so-called “eco driving”, but is closer to what most conventional car users do every day. In fact, he switches off the “ECO” driving mode.
The result, and somehow I suspected it would be so, is that the Leaf’s fully charged batteries do not allow the promised 109 miles to be covered without having to stop to recharge first. Under the conditions of the test, the distance covered until the battery energy is completely depleted is 74.7 miles (approx. 120 km).
The video also shows other interesting things, such as the instant effect that switching the air conditioning on or off has on range, or that the Leaf reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in less than 11 seconds (it isn’t shown, but they say so).
