Volt owners prove that the extended-range concept is worth it

Unlike the Nissan Leaf, the Chevy Volt has done more to make electric technology be seen a little more seriously, because the experience of driving an extended-range car far surpasses that of driving a car powered purely by electricity.
According to data provided by Chevrolet itself -which may be a bit biased- some Volt users are covering an average of around 1,500 to 1,600 kilometres between refuels, running on electricity alone for most of the journey with the gasoline in the tank.
There have been reports of customers who have refilled the petrol tank three months after the last time they did so. Seeing who can cover the most kilometres on a single tank of petrol seems to have become a real sport for Volt users and a great source of satisfaction for GM, which receives all these comments with a broad smile. Of course, these numbers are only achieved with extremely conservative driving, but that is what the Volt is for: to save a few dollars on petrol.
The conclusion seems obvious: for now, the Nissan Leaf is no competition for the Volt, which has perfectly adapted the benefits of extended range and is proving to be the best alternative for those who do not cover long distances on a daily basis.
