Who tames this beast? Hennessey Ford Mustang HPE800 25th Anniversary

Hennessey is a company dedicated to vehicle tuning, focusing most of its work on American muscle cars, although it doesn’t turn its nose up at supercars either. In 2016 it celebrates its twenty-fifth birthday, a quarter century modifying typically American vehicles.

To mark the occasion, the tuner wanted to do something special and show itself, and the rest of the world, what it is capable of. This is how the protagonist of these lines came about, the Hennessey Ford Mustang HPE800. To be honest, when it comes to paying itself this tribute, the Mustang is the best possible ally.

The current Ford Mustang is the first generation to arrive on the old continent, and its most powerful variant sold in Spain uses a naturally aspirated V8 producing 421 horsepower, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 5 seconds. Well, the car that Hennessey has taken as its base is precisely this one, the V8, although the final result at a mechanical level is very different.

The version developed by the tuning house has managed to achieve a total power output of over 800 horsepower, 820 to be exact, while torque has risen to 878 Nm. This means it comes close to doubling the power of the stock Mustang that we have on our market. Incredible!

To reach this hard-to-believe power figure, Hennessey has relied on a supercharging system, a new intake system, specific exhausts, new injectors and a fuel pump. Thanks to all of this, it can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a little over 3 seconds and reach 334 km/h.

As it could not be otherwise, in addition to increasing power, if we want a car that won’t kill us the moment we want a bit of fun, they have fitted a high-performance brake system signed by Brembo and a stiffer suspension that also lowers the body height. Aesthetically it incorporates some changes such as new bumpers, skirts, a rear spoiler and specific alloy wheels.

On the other hand, this is a limited edition of just 25 units, so each one incorporates an identification plate with the unit number.
