WiBLE, the car-sharing service from KIA and Repsol, arrives with 500 KIA Niro Plug-in
KIA and Repsol have kicked off their car-sharing company, WiBLE, which will launch in the second half of the year with 500 KIA Niro Plug-in

Car-sharing activity in our country is becoming increasingly widespread. This form of urban mobility has become one of the most important bets for an urban future in which private vehicles are gradually set to disappear.
The Spanish capital, Madrid, has become, due to its characteristics, a very favorable setting for the launch of these proposals. Indeed, three car-sharing companies (Car2go, emov, Zity…) and as many moto-sharing companies have already established themselves in the city.
The latest to arrive is WiBLE, a 50% joint venture between Repsol and KIA Spain, which brings with it all the experience the Korean manufacturer has gained after years of operation in other markets such as South Korea. Now it lands in Europe, with Madrid chosen as the city to begin the process.

WiBLE will begin operations for the public in the second half of the year, using as its only vehicle the KIA Niro plug-in hybrid, one of the most advanced offerings on the market. It is a hybrid capable of driving up to 52 kilometers in 100% electric mode, which earns it the CERO emissions label.
Some 500 units will initially flood the streets of the capital, making it the only car-sharing vehicle with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. The system will work similarly to that of other companies in the sector, allowing users to book, unlock and lock the vehicle through a smartphone app.
Thanks to the CERO rating, the Niro plug-in hybrids, with a total range of just over 600 kilometers, can benefit from, for example, free parking in green and blue zones, and are also “immune” to parking and traffic restrictions during high-pollution episodes.
