Will the new version of the Veyron reach 432 km/h?

We already know that in the battle for the top speed crown, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and the SSC Ultimate Aero II are the only rivals in sight, and that with the arrival of the American supercar and its promised 442 km/h, it was obvious that the people at Bugatti would respond. Although, in hard numbers, the promised figure is not a spectacular gain over what is already known.

But the moment has come, because the Veyron would secure the next contender that is going to give the Shelby Supercars car a real run for its money. Sources close to Volkswagen have revealed that the green light has already been given for the Veyron to have another new model, faster and lighter than the SS, capable of reaching 432 km/h.

Although the Germans did not benefit especially from Bugatti and its Veyrons, it is undeniable that the Ultimate II is a thorn in the side of Bugatti. The project is said to be in quite advanced stages, since Bugatti would not plan major radical changes to the Veyron’s design.

It is also said that the alternative route could be taken of designing the new car on the basis of one of the early designs that Walter da Silva presented to the top brass of Volkswagen in 1999 (main photo) and which, thank God, was ultimately not considered.
