Xiaomi plans to expand its range of electric vehicles with three new models
With these launches Xiaomi aims to diversify its offering into family, executive luxury and high-performance segments, consolidating its rapid rise in the electric mobility sector.
Xiaomi is preparing the launch of three new electric vehicles that will expand its current range, made up of the SU7 saloon and the YU7 SUV. One of these new models will mark the debut of a completely new series, while the other two are evolutions of the YU7 and SU7 we already know.
The three models we are referring to are a large SUV under the name YU9, the high-performance GT version of the YU7 and the SU7 L saloon with a longer wheelbase than the current model.

With the Xiaomi SU7 L, the Chinese manufacturer intends to offer more space and comfort in the rear seats for passengers, a feature in high demand in the Chinese market that has already led many manufacturers to launch versions of their most popular models with a longer wheelbase.
Everything points to this model exceeding 5.2 metres in length with a wheelbase of over 3 metres. Camouflaged prototypes of this new saloon have already been spotted on some Chinese roads carrying out performance tests, which confirms that the presentation of the final production version is only a matter of time.
The “Performance” version of the YU7 is on its way
For its part, the YU7 GT can be considered a high-performance edition of the YU7. This model’s importance for Xiaomi goes beyond achieving high sales volume, since what the Chinese manufacturer fundamentally seeks is to position the brand as a benchmark for sportiness and outstanding performance.

As with the SU7 L, some prototypes of the YU7 GT have also been spotted circulating on the German Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, suggesting that Xiaomi has probably focused on optimising the chassis and driving feel. According to some recent reports, this model could incorporate three electric motors, and given its characteristics it is the main candidate to become the first model from the Chinese brand to reach the European market.
Xiaomi’s luxury family SUV
Finally, the YU9, developed internally under the codename “Kunlun“, will mark the debut of a new family of vehicles aimed at premium and family users. With a length of around 5.2 metres, this large electric SUV will be available in six- or seven-seat configurations, with spacious rear rows and options such as luxury individual seats in the second row.

The main rivals this YU9 will face in the Chinese market will be the Li Auto L9, the Aito M9 and the Onvo L90. This large electric SUV will also be available in an EREV version, with a small combustion engine acting as an electric generator. This makes it the first Xiaomi model that is not purely electric. Its launch in the Chinese market seems imminent, probably in early 2026.
