Xiaomi teams up with NaaS Technology in China to expand its customers' charging options
With this agreement, Xiaomi will strengthen its position in the Chinese electric car market ahead of the launch of the brand’s second model.
Xiaomi continues to advance in the car market at breakneck speed, establishing itself as one of the most promising companies in the sector, although for now it is limiting its activity to its home market. In this regard, the Chinese manufacturer has now decided to join forces with NaaS Technology, one of the leading providers of charging services for electric vehicles in China.
This collaboration will integrate NaaS’s extensive network of charging stations with the Xiaomi Auto app, giving drivers of the manufacturer’s electric vehicles access to more than 100,000 charging points distributed across the country. With this agreement, Xiaomi seeks to offer its customers a more accessible and satisfying charging experience.

NaaS Technology currently has an extensive charging infrastructure in China, with more than one million charging points installed -1.15 million to be exact-, which accounts for approximately 35 percent of the country’s public charging network. In addition to this alliance with Xiaomi, NaaS has previously established similar partnerships with other manufacturers in the Chinese market, such as NETA, IM Motors, Hongqi and FAW-Volkswagen.
Everything much easier
Thanks to this collaboration agreement, Xiaomi vehicle owners will now be able to locate and use NaaS charging stations through the Xiaomi Auto mobile app or also directly from their vehicles’ navigation system. NaaS stations operate under the Chinese Guobiao (GB/T) standard, compatible with both AC alternating current charging and DC fast charging.
Following this agreement, Steven Sim, CFO of NaaS, highlighted that this alliance with Xiaomi Auto represents a significant step forward for the company in its goal of improving the charging experience for drivers.

We cannot conclude without noting that, in addition to this collaboration with NaaS, Xiaomi has signed other similar strategic agreements with the aim of expanding its customers’ access to China’s charging network. In January, it partnered with NIO, thereby giving its customers access to some 14,000 additional chargers. But that’s not all: the Chinese manufacturer also formed an alliance with Li Auto, which adds 6,000 additional charging points, and with XPENG, which adds another 9,000.
