Xpeng G3, the flagship of the Chinese brand arriving in Europe

The Chinese manufacturer, one of the most recognised in the country in electric mobility, will arrive in the Norwegian market with an interesting SUV in 2021.

Expeng G3 Europa

Chinese manufacturers have their eyes set on the European market, which is a very attractive sales point for them. Above all, when it comes to electric vehicles. So it is only natural to see electric cars from Chinese brands that seem unfamiliar to us, and that we have never heard of, making their way to Europe. The latest to arrive has been Xpeng, which has the G3 as its bridgehead for entering the continent.

To make a place for itself in the demanding European market, the Chinese brand has chosen Norway, a market with a good level of electric car sales and which can become a good option for showcasing its models outside China. The first option for getting to know the brand is the Xpeng G3, an electric SUV that aims to win over Norwegians, who are very accustomed to electric mobility.

Range and capacity

The Chinese model that will arrive in Norway during 2021 is equipped with

a 66 kWh battery

, which supplies energy to a motor that produces 145 kW, equivalent to 197 CV, and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. Its top speed is set at 170 km/h and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.

As for range, it is rated at 451 kilometres on the WLTP cycleXpeng G3 Europa, and to round off the arguments for potential buyers, it has achieved the five Euro NCAP stars. It will be presented to Norwegians in two trim levels, Smart and Premium. The entry-level price will be 358,000 Norwegian kroner, which at current exchange rates is roughly 33,800 euros. Both versions feature the most advanced technology developed by Xpeng, although the top version has better equipment and even a level 2.5 autonomous driving system.

Xpeng wants to enter Europe starting with the countries that are most interested in electric vehicles, gradually and seeking the most attractive markets for them. This first model will be followed by a saloon, the Xpeng P7, and from 2022 two more models will arrive.
