10,000 orders have already been placed for the new Nissan Leaf in just two months

The new Nissan Leaf is becoming one of the most successful electric vehicles. In just two months, 10,000 orders have already been registered across Europe.

Electric vehicles have brought about a revolution in the automotive world and are presenting themselves as a very competitive alternative to combustion engines. We can see this reflected in the fact that, little by little, 100% electric powertrains are solving the problems of petrol engines, including range. A clear example of this great progress is the new Nissan Leaf, an electric vehicle that, after only two months in production, has already registered 10,000 orders across Europe.

The success of the new Leaf is something we have also been able to witness in Spain, where the two launch batches sold out in just a few weeks. This is not only because electric cars are resolving a large number of their problems, but also because of the great offers they present to the public. The Leaf, as we reported recently, is available for just 300 euros a month, which makes it a great option compared with its rivals.

It was in 2010 that the first generation of the Leaf was presented, at a time when few brands dared to bet on electric propulsion. Little by little, its success has grown and, almost eight years later, the public has been captivated by the charm of the new Japanese compact. Nissan learned a great deal from the mistakes of the first generation , and this is reflected in the new Leaf, in its technology, design and performance.

Today, the new Leaf features an electric motor capable of producing 150 CV and 320 Nm of torque, figures more than sufficient to tackle urban environments and protect our finances thanks to the low running costs of this vehicle. On the other hand, planning a long journey aboard the new Leaf is not a crazy idea, as it offers 378 km of range and, little by little, more charging points for electric vehicles will be installed across Spain.

Nissan has also wanted to take advantage of the Leaf’s launch to incorporate the results of its autonomous driving research. This will mean a significant improvement and will make the experience of driving electric far more enjoyable. These systems are called ProPILOT and e-Pedal, which allow the Leaf to drive autonomously on the motorway and require only a small amount of pressure on the brake pedal for the car to begin reducing speed.

Without a doubt, the new, refined styling together with the mechanical package offered by the Nissan Leaf make it a much more attractive vehicle. Production has already started in the United Kingdom and, little by little, deliveries to its future owners will follow.
