58 Ferrari F40 at Silverstone

The Ferrari F40 turns 25, and what better way to celebrate than by gathering 58 of these sports cars to pay tribute to them at the Silverstone circuit.

Unveiled in 1987, the Ferrari F40 was at the time the fastest sports car in the world, one of the last examples of cars built for true drivers, with no electronic aids, no traction control and only a five-speed manual gearbox.

Although the F40 was one of the Ferrari that required a rather hefty bank balance, over the years many have changed hands and have survived outside the classic car market and the sales strategies of collectors; like these 58 F40s that have come together at the Silverstone circuit.

Most of them carried British registration plates; only one brave F40 owner made the trip from Switzerland to attend this tribute known as the Silverstone Classic. And no wonder, since the 25th anniversary of the F40 was being celebrated.

With such an illustrious guest and the model’s background, it is worth taking a look at what these Ferrari have been up to at Silverstone. It was also interesting to stand by the road leading to Silverstone to see these monsters arrive up close, as shown in the following video.
