Land Rover has gone all out and has just unveiled what we are sure will become its future flagship: the Range Rover 2022. The new generation of the most luxurious and exclusive off-roader has arrived full of surprises and innovations. Furthermore, it has taken a leap in quality and can now go head to head with some of the best cars in the world. We are talking about Rolls-Royce, Bentley or even Maybach.

The new Range Rover 2022 can be driven in its short wheelbase version, known as SWB, which measures 5,052 mm, or in its long wheelbase version (LWB), which measures 5,252 mm. The brand has wanted to remain true to its origins and, although it has been completely redesigned, at first glance it is clear that this is one of the models of Land Rover. According to the brand itself, the Range Rover 2022 is an exercise in design that is “more fluid and harmonious”.

Among the details, the new LED light units camouflaged into the bodywork stand out, as well as the floating roof effect achieved by enlarging the glazed surface. The quality, as with all Land Rover, is exceptional, and the most discerning drivers will be able to enjoy the SV version.

This new Range Rover is built on the modular platform called MLA-Flex, which allows the model to be fitted with air suspension that can be adjusted for height and firmness. In addition, it features 48V active anti-roll bars, a rear axle with steering, differential locks, an eight-speed automatic gearbox with torque converter, among other systems.

As for the engine options, the new Range Rover 2022 will offer up to five engines: two plug-in hybrids, two mild-hybrid diesels and one petrol with a V8 engine. The two diesel units use a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder block with mild-hybrid technology. The Range Rover D300 option delivers 300 CV and 650 Nm of maximum torque. Meanwhile, the D350 delivers 350 CV and 700 Nm of maximum torque.

The two plug-in hybrid versions feature a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine capable of producing up to 400 CV. The electric motor adds up to 141 CV. They also have a 31.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. The P440e version delivers 440 CV and 620 Nm, while the P510e offers a whopping 510 CV and 700 Nm of maximum torque. If you’re looking for extra sportiness and power, you can opt for the P530 version, which mounts a 4.4-litre V8 TwinTurbo engine of BMW origin, capable of delivering 530 CV and 750 Nm of maximum torque.

In terms of technology, the luxury off-roader from Land Rover includes the Terrain Response 2 system, which adds cruise control for off-road driving, augmented reality cameras, and more. It is also worth noting that it will have a ground clearance of 295 mm, a wading depth of 900 mm and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kilograms. Its approach, ramp-over and departure angles are 34.7º, 27.7º and 29º respectively.
