Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing 99 Limited Edition, in honour of Jorge Lorenzo

Barely two weeks ago we met the new Abarth 595, successor to the old Abarth 500. Now, the scorpion brand is launching a special edition, but mind you, based on the previous model and not the one just presented.
The full name is rather long, Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing “99 Limited Edition”, but however long the name may be, that does not mean the limited edition will be very extensive. Abarth has conceived just 18 units, due to the sum of the digits 99 (9+9).
The launch of the 595 Yamaha Factory Racing “99 Limited Edition” is a tribute to Spanish MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo, who last season, 2015, won the world championship in the premier class. His team, the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, of which the car brand is sponsor and vehicle supplier, also clinched the constructors’ title.
This special edition is available in two different colours, with 9 units of each. The first is Podium Blue, with brand decals and exterior mirror caps in black. The other available colour is Competition White, likewise with Abarth decals and mirror caps in red.

Mechanically it uses the 1.4 T-Jet 160 hp engine, accompanied by Abarth Koni dampers, shorter Eibach springs on both axles, 17-inch wheels painted matte black, red brake calipers, Yamaha Factory Racing lettering and the aforementioned decals.
Its mechanics allow it to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h with a consumption of 6 litres per 100 km according to its homologation data.
The price of each of these 18 units is 21,500 euros. It may sound very high, but it is not a Fiat 500; it is a 160 hp Abarth with many extras to improve its performance and driving enjoyment. Furthermore, there are only 18 units, which will be sold exclusively in the Spanish market.
