BMW continues celebrating its first 100 years with a special, limited edition of the M6 for Japan

This year, the Bavarian brand is celebrating, and for that reason several special models have been prepared for specific markets. This is the case of the new BMW M6, which will be launched only as a special, limited edition in the Japanese market, where there seems to be a certain fondness for this special model from the brand. This very special version will be called the Rhe Celebration Edition and will be available shortly.

The celebration model will feature the Competition package and the M Driver’s Package. The 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine exceeds the 575 CV of power of the version on which this special edition is based, and instead reaches a round 600 CV and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

With these characteristics, the BMW Rhe Celebration Edition is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 304 km/h. This is not the only feature that makes this version a remarkable car. To set it apart from other similar cars, it has been painted yellow with black details and features 20-inch black alloy wheels.

Inside, it is finished in black leather, with yellow accents, seeking the same contrast found on the exterior, but reversed. The music comes through the speakers of the Bang & Olufsen audio system, along with other equipment not found in other versions of the model.

Now comes the bad news. As we have said, it will only be sold in Japan, but even if you have the chance to travel to that Asian country and look for one, you will need to hurry. Only 13 units will be produced, so they are expected to disappear very quickly. The price set for this model is 23,210,000 yen, which translates to roughly $320,000. A remarkable car, the kind we would love to drive but which slips away because of its regional restrictions. That said, we can at least see it in photos and be amazed by it. What do you think?
