Ares Panther Evo, an evolution of the model that brings back the De Tomaso Pantera

Ares’ model revives the spirit of the De Tomaso Pantera, which stopped being manufactured in 1991 and has been resurrected in the “Legends Reborn” series

There’s no need to introduce Ares Design, one of the most important customisation workshops in the industry. Among its many projects is the “Legends Reborn” series, which has brought back the De Tomaso Pantera with a contemporary reinterpretation. This Italian model was manufactured from 1971 and production ended in 1991. 7,260 units were built, and the last one was delivered in 1992.

The model has been named Ares Panther Evo and keeps the car’s retro style, but with an updated design. It is an evolution of the previous model, presented in 2019, with modifications that improve on the earlier design. Among these changes, the rear of the car has been reworked.

At the rear we find a new exhaust, which instead of two twin exhausts, one on each side, has a twin exhaust mounted in the centre. The number plate recess has also been removed and the rear lights have been renewed. The wheels are also new and offer a renewed and more dynamic look.

Inside, the changes compared with the previous model have also arrived. Now the steering wheel has two spokes, there is a new design for the controls and a vertically oriented screen. The gear lever mimics a manual gearbox, but it is actually a two-clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission.

The chassis of the Ares Panther Evo is made of carbon fibre and aluminium. As for the carbon-fibre bodywork, it also includes a steel roll cage. As for the engine, it features the same 5.2-litre V10 engine, although the software has been modified and this, together with the new exhaust, achieves a total output of 650 CV.
