The new Aston Martin DB11 Volante, the convertible version of the iconic sports car, joins the DB11 Coupé, whose launch was a great success last year. Refinement and sportiness are present both in the exterior bodywork and in the interior of the cabin. It stands out for the lightness of its aluminium structure, but also for the high levels of performance it offers.
One of the new features is the first-ever inclusion in a Volante model of the ISOFIX system for fitting a child restraint system, adding greater versatility to this convertible sports car. Also, the rear seat trim is wood, although carbon fibre is available as an option. The interior is a true display of quality and refinement in its finishes and the inserts of the various parts that make it up.
The roof, a notable feature of this model, is electrically operated and takes only 14 seconds to open fully, while the closing operation takes 16 seconds. It can be operated from the remote control and also while moving at up to 50 km/h. The fabric roof can be ordered in red, black or grey. It insulates the interior, reducing outside noise as well as the effects of bad weather, providing perfect driving comfort.
Interior of the New Aston Martin DB11 Volante
The engine that powers the new Aston Martin DB11 Volante is the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 510 CV, the result of the collaboration with Mercedes-AMG. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Its response can be adjusted thanks to the three configurable modes, although elements such as the transmission, the electric power steering and the limited-slip differential with dynamic torque vectoring also vary according to the driver’s choice across these modes.
It also features a very striking rear lighting arrangement thanks to a very slim C-shaped light unit. The front light signature is also recognisable for its distinctive shape, giving a distinctive and aggressive touch to a front end dominated by the large grille so characteristic of Aston Martin sports cars.
The structure of the new Aston Martin DB11 Volante is 26 kg lighter and 5% stiffer than its predecessor, preserving structural and dynamic integrity while delivering greater performance, more comfort, refinement and interior space for occupants and their luggage.
First deliveries of the DB11 Volante are scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2018. The price for Spain has not yet been announced, but it is known that in Germany it will start from 199,000 euros.
