Aston Martin Vantage, the new F1 Safety Car for 2024
Aston Martin is already fully prepared to take part in Formula 1 races as both Safety and Medical Car, alternating with Mercedes Benz and the incredible AMG GT Black Series

On the incredible Saudi Arabia circuit, the setting for the FORMULA 1® GRAND PRIX 2024, the excitement of Formula 1® stands on the brink of a new era, one in which safety will be entrusted to one of the finest supercars, as the Aston Martin Vantage makes its debut as the new FIA Official Safety Car.
This model has been configured and designed in meticulous detail and will be joined by its teammate, the DBX707, which will serve as the Medical Car. The Vantage is ready to set the pace at the front of the grid and to guarantee safety on track at every circuit around the world. Meanwhile, during the 2024 season the British brand will alternate with Mercedes and its AMG GT Black Series.

A debut worthy of the occasion
This model was unveiled just three weeks ago alongside the Vantage GT3 and the AMR24 , and in this, its fourth season, the specially adapted Aston Martin models take on vital roles in Formula 1® safety, and the new Vantage is no exception. With a driver-centred approach and designed to lead the grid with confidence, this Vantage arrives as the definitive expression of the competitive spirit of Aston Martin that has accompanied us for 111 years of history.

The Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, Marco Mattiacci, shared his enthusiasm, highlighting the synergy between competition and the brand: “Fans will be able to witness not only the performance of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team AMR24, but also two of our most iconic models, the Vantage and the award-winning DBX707”.
Power increased by 150 CV
Beneath the bonnet of the Vantage beats a powerful heart: a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers a 30% increase in power over its predecessor. What does that mean? This upgrade gives the Vantage Safety Car an impressive output of 665 CV, a gain of 150 CV over its predecessor, and a top speed raised to 325 kilometres per hour.

Bernd Mayländer, the experienced driver tasked with piloting the Safety Car, expressed his satisfaction with the Vantage’s performance: “We need a car that is quick and decisive so we can respond rapidly and safely when we receive the call to go out on track, and the Vantage delivers what we need”.
New seats and dynamic improvements
To become the FIA’s official Safety Car in Formula 1®, the Vantage underwent a meticulous adaptation process. Aerodynamic improvements include an elongated front splitter, a new rear spoiler and a light bar specifically designed to optimise aerodynamics.

Inside, we find the sporty Pole Position seats, with a lime tone in the interior and the characteristic Aston Martin Racing Green. Most striking, however, is the instrument panel filled with screens, which display lap times and the position on track of each single-seater, alongside a rear-view camera.
