Audi A1 Citycarver, why is there almost 5 thousand euros of difference between the cheapest and the most expensive?
The new Audi A1 Citycarver already has a price and can be reserved at dealerships, although no units are yet available.
The new crossover from Audi opens its order book for the most urban and compact version of the Audi A1 Sportback, the Audi A1 Citycarver, a blend of concepts and body styles that gives rise to an adventurous-looking vehicle with a clear focus on city use.
For this reason, understanding that this car is unlikely to set foot on any surface other than asphalt, we wonder which version and trim level is the most balanced.
And, to begin this analysis, we start by differentiating the available mechanicals.
The engines of the Audi A1 Citycarver
From the outset, it should be noted that this car will initially only be offered with petrol engines, using the familiar TFSI badge alongside the numbering that indicates the power range under which these crossovers are homologated.
Thus, when sales of the Audi A1 Citycarver begin, the versions will be offered as Audi A1 Citycarver 25 TFSI and Audi A1 Citycarver 30 TFSI, with outputs of 95 and 116 CV, respectively.
The 25 TFSI comes with a five-speed manual gearbox, and the 30 TFSI will also be available with the manual, but with six speeds, or with the S Tronic automatic gearbox.
Right from the start, the more modest engine does not enjoy the advantage of the more powerful one, which can be optionally equipped with a gearbox as efficient as Audi’s S Tronic.
Regardless of the engine chosen, this car will only be offered with front-wheel drive, leaving aside, at least for now, the possibility of all-wheel drive quattro, the brand’s hallmark.
As an option, you can include the Dynamic package, which increases agility and dynamism thanks to a suspension with adjustable dampers and the Audi drive select dynamic driving system, which lets you choose between four driving modes: auto, dynamic, efficiency and individual.
Therefore, within the mechanicals, the Audi A1 Citycarver 30 TFSI with S Tronic gearbox seems, a priori, the most balanced for urban use, with no need to add a kit that increases the sportiness.

The Audi A1 Citycarver arrives with a special launch edition
In addition, at the start of sales, an edition called Audi A1 Citycarver edition one will be offered. Its RRP has not been disclosed, and the photographs in this article correspond to it. It is characterised by an exclusive exterior built around a body colour palette of Arrow grey or Pulse orange.
This special launch edition of the Audi A1 Citycarver comes as standard with 18-inch wheels, trim for the front side air intakes, the radiator protective grille, the Audi rings on the Singleframe grille, and the rear badges finished in black.
The headlights and rear light clusters feature a darker tone than the rest of the variants, and the roof along with the mirror housings have been painted in contrasting colours.
The matt silver edition one adhesive decal along the side indicates that, if you see one of these units, you will have the opportunity to see one of the commemorative launch Audi A1 Citycarvers.
As for the cabin, the Audi A1 Citycarver edition one, for which there are not yet prices, will feature the equipment of the S line.
