Audi kicks off sales of the SQ2 in Spain
After announcing its update before the end of 2020, the Audi SQ2 finally begins sales in the Spanish market

Last November, Audi updated the sportiest version of the Q2 family, the powerful SQ2, an SUV that, as with the rest of the range, has also received aesthetic and equipment updates. The new Audi SQ2 is now ready to be delivered in the various European markets, Spain being one of them, where it can already be ordered at the brand’s dealerships.
The most significant changes to the exterior of the Audi SQ2 are found at the front, where it features a front end in which its distinctive Singleframe grille now sits lower and incorporates a larger polygonal design; meanwhile, the bumper has a new design in which the large air intakes receive new trim pieces. The front headlights will be LED as standard equipment, although optionally you can fit Matrix LED units with dynamic indicators.

These are not the only changes you will find on the new Audi SQ2, although it is true that these will be less noticeable. For example, the mirror housings and the rear bumper inserts are in silver, similar to the trim on the front air intakes. In addition, among the standard equipment, the rear light cluster will feature LED technology.
Inside, as a sign of the sportiness of the Audi SQ2, dark tones will predominate in the upholstery, and for the black roof, these will be combined with the brushed matte aluminium inserts found on the dashboard. It should be said that, as standard, the Audi SQ2 will have upholstery in a combination of fabric and leather, although as an option you can replace it with fine Nappa leather or Dinamica microfibre, which replaces Alcantara. To complete its styling, stainless steel pedals and footrests are also included, as well as door sill trims with the “S” logo and illumination.

The standard equipment of the Audi SQ2 is very good, and among the features we highlight the following:
- MMI Plus navigation system
- Audi Connect services with LTE plus connection module
- eCall emergency call
- Front and rear Audi Parking System
- Reversing camera
- Cruise control
- Anti-theft alarm
- Automatic climate control
- Multifunction sport steering wheel with paddle shifters
- Sport seats
- Sound system with 8 speakers
- Progressive steering
- Audi Smartphone Interface
- Audi Pre Sense Front
- 18-inch alloy wheels
Optionally, there is a list of items to upgrade its equipment, including new 19-inch wheels from Audi Sport, a glass panoramic roof, electric tailgate, comfort key, wireless smartphone charging, Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 14-speaker sound system with 705 W signed by Bang & Olufsen, and the various assistance packages and exterior and interior personalisation packs.

Mechanically, the Audi SQ2 uses the well-known 2.0-litre TFSI with which you get 300 CV together with 400 Nm of torque, linked to a 7-speed S Tronic automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels thanks to the Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. Thanks to this setup, the SQ2 reaches 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 km/h, while it records a combined consumption of around 8.5 l/100 km along with CO2 emissions of 193 g/km.
To make its driving as sporty and dynamic as possible, the Audi SQ2 comes as standard with the “S” sport suspension, and the driver can also adjust the engine response, steering and S Tronic shifting through the Audi Drive Select function, choosing between Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual modes. In addition, for effective braking there are 340 mm brake discs on the front axle and 310 mm on the rear axle, with brake calipers that can optionally be painted red.
As I mentioned about the price, the Audi SQ2 can already be ordered at the brand’s Spanish dealerships with a starting price of 52,780 euros. First deliveries are scheduled for the end of April.
