Audi pays tribute to the RS4 Avant B5 with the exclusive and limited RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years
The Audi RS4 Avant B5 marked the beginning of the brand’s sporty family cars, and now they pay tribute to it with the spectacular and enhanced RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years

In the 1990s the Avant RS2 and the S6 Plus laid the foundations for the sporty family cars of Audi, a seed that fully developed in the first RS model from Quattro GmbH (what is now Audi Sport GmbH), launched on the market in 2001: the Audi RS4 Avant belonging to the popular B5 generation, a model that today is still highly sought after and therefore very valuable.
The Audi RS4 Avant represented, at the time, a step up from the Audi S4 in every respect. Besides using an estate body, it was widened, signalling that it was a very special and sporty model, along with a lowered suspension, bucket seats, a sports exhaust and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Under its bonnet sat a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine of 2,700 cc, developed in collaboration with Cosworth, producing a very respectable 380 CV for its time.

Now Audi pays homage to this spectacular sporty estate with the RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years, becoming the most sporty version of the current B9 generation, of which only 250 units will be manufactured, of which just 6 units will arrive in Spain. It also comes in a colour that suits any Audi well: yellow, specifically Imola Yellow, although as an alternative for those who don’t like it there will be Mythos Black. The body colour is combined with details in gloss black on the window mouldings, the front and rear headlights, as well as the Audi badges.

This exterior styling will be completed with machined alloy wheels of 20 inches, painted in matt palladium and fitted with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres. Optionally, with the Competition package, there are forged wheels with optimised weight and enhanced design, also in 18 inches, on which tyres are used in this case. In addition, customers will also receive a kit consisting of a second set of Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tyres with the Pirelli Track Adrenaline system, mounted on exclusive 20-inch wheels finished in matt black.

Inside there are also references to the Audi RS 4 Avant, with contrast yellow stitching on the leather and Dinamica microfibre upholstery of the seats, recalling the black/yellow Alcantara leather combination of the RS4, also featuring honeycomb stitching and the carbon backrest. The yellow stitching is also present in other areas such as the steering wheel rim, the door armrests, the Alcantara centre console and the gear lever. Another detail, in matt finish, is the plate on the centre console that indicates the unit number.

In addition, each happy owner of one of these units will also enjoy extended standard equipment with elements such as tinted solar-protection glass for all rear windows, Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 3D sound, adaptive driver assistance, or the RS projections from the entry LED lights. To round things off, on the digital instrument cluster you can choose a white background for the tachometer and speedometer via the MMI, as a clear homage to the 1994 Audi Avant RS2.

But pay attention, because we are not finished yet: the twin-turbo V6 of the Audi RS 4 Avant receives a power increase of 20 CV for the Edition 25 Years, now reaching 470 CV and a torque of 600 Nm, which will also produce a special sound thanks to the RS plus sports exhaust with matt black tailpipes; now reaching 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed increased to 300 km/h. This power increase comes with a RS carbon-ceramic brake system and the RS pro sports suspension, which lowers the ride height by 10 mm compared to a standard RS 4 Avant and can be lowered a further 10 mm manually.
If you want to own one of these exclusive units, you can already opt for it, because Audi is now accepting orders, although to do so you will have to pay 165,600 euros and then wait until summer, when the brand expects the first units to reach their respective owners.
