Audi Prologue Avant: will the family cars of the future look like this?

Audi is presented in its second variant, one of the most striking concepts of recent months. A few weeks ago we saw the Audi Prologue. Today it is the turn of the Prologue Avant.
It will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the saloon variant, with both models previewing the brand’s new design lines.
The Prologue Avant can be considered the evolution of the Prologue Concept, one of the most striking and attractive prototypes from the four-ring brand. In this second evolution, the Prologue adopts an estate body, a segment Audi handles perfectly. Looking at the images, we have one of the most beautiful estates of recent years.

The front end remains practically unchanged from the Prologue Concept, while the side profile is clearly differentiated by the addition of a third volume that nonetheless blends perfectly with the original design. The rear now has a generously sized tailgate, but with a fairly steep angle of rake, which adds dynamism to the whole.
Inside, there are hardly any changes compared with the Prologue Avant. The dashboard remains a clean, uncluttered surface from which practically all buttons and switches have disappeared. Instead, two large OLED screens take charge of controlling all the vehicle’s systems.

Mechanically, the Prologue Avant does change its configuration compared with the Prologue Concept. Whereas the latter fits a 4.0 V8 TFSI petrol engine producing 605 CV, this time a somewhat more “sensible” combination has been chosen: a 3.0 TDI diesel engine paired with an electric motor powered by a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. The final result is 455 CV and 750 Nm, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds with an average consumption of 1.6 litres per 100 km.
