Audi RSQ e-tron: this is the prototype of Audi for an animated film

The Audi RSQ e-tron was designed by Audi Design and Blue Sky Studios for the animated film ‘Spies in Disguise’, which will be released in September 2019.

The Audi RSQ e-tron is the first concept car to appear on the big screen. The German car manufacturer has designed this fictional prototype for an animated film produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film. This design was developed by Audio Design and Blue Sky Studios for the film ‘Spies in Disguise’, which will be released in September 2019.

An autonomous and electric car

The concept car of Audi lends itself to imagining a not-too-distant future in the world of espionage. This Audi RSQ e-tron designed for the film adds a hologram as a speedometer, automated driving technology or a fully electric motor, among other things. The German two-seater supercar seeks to combine the features of a fully autonomous vehicle with those of a high-performance one.

This prototype is entirely focused on the life of the film’s main character, super spy Lance Sterling, voiced by actor Will Smith. This car combines the driver assistance systems of Audi with special features for secret agents. “This project was the perfect opportunity to highlight Audi’s e-tron technology,” adds Erin Williams, Vice President of Marketing Partnerships at Twentieth Century Fox Film.

Despite being a fictional and futuristic car, the design by Audio Design and Blue Sky Studios also aimed to raise awareness among viewers about electric mobility. “An international espionage story with futuristic technologies that can save the world is the perfect combination,” explains Giovanni Perosino, Vice President of Marketing Communications at Audi AG.

The film: ‘Spies in Disguise’

The relationship between Audi, the film studio and Blue Sky Studios does not end here. Throughout 2019, the three companies will work together on the creation of additional animated content related to ‘Spies in Disguise’.

Twentieth Century Fox Film’s new animated production will be released in September 2019. Will Smith (super agent Lance Sterling) and Tom Holland (scientist Walter Beckett) star in this animated comedy. The plot of the film is built on the trust that both characters will need to have in order to save the world, when the story suddenly takes an unexpected turn.
