BMW and its range of sports cars are also taking the lead in Spain
BMW continues its resounding success in Spain thanks to its sports cars, of which it sold a total of 999 units in 2019.

Yesterday we told you about the success of BMW in our country with its electric vehicles, but the German brand has also dominated Spain with the antithesis of this type of car: sports cars. The Bavarian firm has been working in this sector for time immemorial and represents it through the letter M, a world-renowned badge. But BMW has not only managed to win over the hearts of the most petrolhead Spaniards through its obvious experience in designing sports cars, but also by staying true to its principles and offering vehicles capable of conveying sensations.
Without a doubt, it is quite an achievement to sell a good number of sports cars in the current times dominated by anti-pollution regulations. On the other hand, and despite the outlay potential owners of an BMW M must face, the sales figures confirm that the costs have not been a problem for those Spaniards who are enthusiastic about sports cars.
And if we add up the units sold in Spain throughout 2019 of both the M Performance and M models of BMW, we get a total of 999 vehicles. Thanks to this exercise, the overall figure of sports cars sold by the German brand rises to 135,829 units, a number that represents growth of 32.2% compared with the previous year and a new record.

Of the entire range of BMW sports cars, the M2 Competition has been the one leading the way thanks to its warm reception. Throughout 2019, a total of 224 units of this German sports car were sold in Spain. The second position goes to the X4 M40i and M40d, which together total 170 units sold.
Although 2019 was full of new releases from BMW, the truth is that these will help increase its success throughout this year 2020. Models such as the M8 and M8 Gran Coupé or the new X3 M and X4 M are expected to receive a warm welcome in the Spanish market, where both high-performance GTs and SUVs have always been very well received.

Other BMW sports cars such as the M5 and M4 helped boost sales, with 41 and 50 units sold respectively over the past year. This is how the Bavarian brand is climbing the rankings through its different segments, which aim to meet any kind of need a potential customer may have.
