BMW iX1 eDrive20: BMW introduces the second fully electric variant
BMW expands its electric range with the second fully electric version of its BMW iX1 eDrive20 model, a compact car that redefines sustainable mobility

The electric revolution in the automotive world continues to advance by leaps and bounds, and BMW is not left behind. In its constant pursuit of offering sustainable mobility solutions, the iconic German brand presents the BMW iX1 eDrive20, a new fully electric gem that promises to revolutionise the premium compact segment with its second version which, of course, comes with improvements.
BMW has demonstrated its commitment to electric mobility with the launch of its latest creation, the BMW iX1 eDrive20, a vehicle classified as a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), a compact that embodies the brand’s vision of providing an electric mobility option that is attractive in terms of both performance and price. With a recommended retail price of 47,900 euros (VAT included), the iX1 eDrive20 offers an affordable entry point into the exciting world of premium electric vehicles.

The heart of this compact SAV beats strongly thanks to its electric motor, which delivers a maximum output of 150 kW (204 CV with temporary boost). This power translates into acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds, and a top speed electronically limited to 170 km/h. In addition, the iX1 eDrive20 comes with an impressive range of between 430 and 475 kilometres according to WLTP standards, giving drivers the confidence they need for their daily journeys. This model achieves a combined energy consumption of between 17.2 and 15.4 kWh/100 km according to WLTP.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Efficient Charging
Efficiency is key to the electric driving experience, and the BMW iX1 eDrive20 demonstrates this in its design. Its high-voltage battery, which occupies little space in the vehicle’s floor, has a capacity of 64.7 kWh, contributing to its excellent efficiency and range. With the combined charging unit, you can charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 6.5 hours, while the optional three-phase AC charging reduces this time to 3 hours and 45 minutes. For fast charging, the battery can receive up to 130 kW of power via direct current.

Smart and Customisable Charging
The iX1 eDrive20 offers intelligent charging control thanks to its efficient software. The charging power adapts specifically while energy is supplied, ensuring shorter charging times and greater energy efficiency. In addition, anticipatory thermal management ensures the battery is in optimal condition before a stop at a fast-charging station. Drivers can also manually control battery preconditioning according to their preferences.
An Interior That Makes a Difference
The BMW iX1 eDrive20 comes equipped with a wide range of standard features that make every journey comfortable and convenient. It includes the BMW Maps navigation system, two-zone automatic air conditioning, advanced driver assistance systems and the parking assistant, which make city life easier. The curved display BMW, consisting of a 10.25-inch information display and a 10.7-inch control display, has been redesigned to provide quick access to functions, allowing for more intuitive and natural operation.

The Future of Electric Mobility
The BMW iX1 eDrive20 is a testament to BMW’s commitment to electric mobility. It offers an exciting option for those seeking a premium, compact and sustainable vehicle. With its impressive performance, advanced charging technology and cutting-edge features, this compact is a bold step towards a cleaner and more efficient future in the automotive world. The iX1 eDrive20 will arrive on the market in November 2023, marking a new milestone in the evolution of high-quality electric mobility. BMW continues to lead the way towards a more sustainable tomorrow, and the iX1 eDrive20 is proof of this.
