BMW M2; approved for production

It seems the wishes of the brand’s most fervent followers ///M will come true once again. A new model has just received the go-ahead for its development and production.
It is the BMW M2, the most sporty and performance-oriented version of the newly launched 2 Series. A model set to make a big impact, arriving at the end of 2015.
Although the details are still very scarce, it is clear that the look of the future M2 will follow the guidelines the German brand has applied to the new M3 and M4, with a very aggressive design that will serve to compete with rivals of the calibre of the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG or the upcoming Audi RS3.
Inside, a trim level where sportiness is immediately apparent is also expected, thanks to carbon-fibre trim, semi-bucket seats and specific M-model instrumentation.

In the technical section, not much data is known either, but it is practically certain that BMW will use its six-cylinder in-line engine with a 3-litre displacement, of course with twin turbocharging. In this model power output is expected to reach 380 CV.

This level of power would place it directly at the top of the table, ahead of its most direct rivals, such as the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG. Expected performance points to an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.5 seconds, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h.
