BMW M2 CS, the best M currently on sale?
The BMW M2 CS could be the best car in BMW’s M performance division currently on sale. What do you think?

Since its arrival on the market, the BMW M2 has been acclaimed by journalists and car enthusiasts, making it the most driver-focused car in the manufacturer’s lineup. Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire recently had the chance to test the flagship CS model and was very impressed by what he found.

The car is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 450 CV and 550 Nm of peak torque, a significant improvement over the 410 CV unit of the BMW M2 Competition. Customers can order the car with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. It can reach 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 280 km/h.

BMW M2 CS, the most balanced and fun model on sale?
In a straight line, the BMW M2 CS feels considerably quicker than the lesser variants, but that is not its only advantage. As Farah points out, the car’s adjustable suspension system gives it a much more flexible and forgiving ride than the BMW M2 Competition.

BMW also updated the M2 CS’s brakes with six-piston calipers at the front, with 400 mm discs, and four-piston calipers with 380 mm discs at the rear. Farah is a big fan of the optional carbon-ceramic brakes fitted to his test car, but says they are very squeaky around town.
