BMW M3, new information on the next generation

Talking about the next generation of the BMW M3 is perhaps venturing into a rather murky territory, of which little or practically nothing is certain except one thing: the new generation of this renowned high-performance coupé will be the first in the German brand’s entire history to use a turbocharged engine.
This makes it clear that we will have to wait for a radically different generation, and this is where we come across new information and data, since this generation will not only be radically different mechanically speaking but practically in all the other aspects that make this car a vehicle worth considering.

Setting aside whether the car looks more or less attractive, something that will depend on each buyer’s taste, I want to focus on its mechanics, since the new generation, apparently, will stand out not for fitting a turbo, but for fitting a 3.2-litre engine block with triple-turbo technology.
As you well know, this is nothing new, since this technology will soon appear on the market in the brand’s new diesel engines. What is new is precisely that it is being developed for a vehicle like the new BMW M3. Unfortunately, it is not very clear whether the Bavarians will fit a V6 block, which from my point of view would be more logical, or a straight-six instead.
Once all this information is clarified, the rumours suggest we should not expect a much more powerful M3; the output will reportedly be around 440 CV. Instead, BMW will focus especially on offering a much lighter model, around 100/120 kg less than the current BMW M3 E92, thus gaining not only in performance but also in efficiency and consumption.
