BMW has announced the launch of a dedicated package for its most powerful coupé, the M6. It is called the Competition Package and will be available within a few weeks as an additional equipment option.

The M6 Competition Package arrives with several updates that improve both performance and handling, making the M6 one of the fastest road cars on the market right now.

The 6 Series of BMW is the coupé version of the German manufacturer’s executive saloon, offering an elegant, striking look and first-class dynamics which, in its most sporting version, called M6, make it a genuine “road-devouring” machine.

The M6 in this second generation, which has just received a facelift, is powered by a twin-turbo V8 that produces, as standard, 560 CV and 680 Nm. Although these figures are mind-boggling for most mortals, there is always someone who wants more, and for that kind of driver the engineers at ///M have created the Competition Package, a collection of upgrades that makes the M6 the most powerful BMW on sale.

The first change is obvious: the engine receives an extra dose of power to reach a round 600 CV, while peak torque rises to 700 Nm. This engine revision allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, a feat the convertible version accomplishes in 4.0 seconds. Top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h.

In addition, the Competition Package includes new suspension settings, thicker anti-roll bars, faster and more precise steering, and new operating logic for both the M Active differential and the dynamic stability control system. Visually, the M6 Competition Package stands out thanks to 20-inch wheels of a different design and black exhaust outlets.
