BMW shows how Head Up Display technology works

The Head Up Display technology, known as HUD if we use only the acronym, is increasingly present in today’s cars. It is a technology that projects driving-related information onto the windscreen, allowing drivers to access it without having to take their eyes and attention away from what is happening on the road.
This type of technology aims to increase the safety of the driver and the vehicle’s occupants, but also to allow the driver to be aware of everything necessary about what is happening in the car and around it at a single glance. What we did not quite understand is how this projection system works and how that information can be made to appear on the glass in front of us, right?
BMW wanted to help us on this front and has created a video explaining how this technology works and all the benefits it can bring once it is fully integrated into models arriving in the near future. Certainly, it is much more useful than traditional display systems, whether analogue or digital.
More safety and efficiency when driving
Without needing to take your eyes off the road or the urban street, all the information we normally see is in front of us, such as speed and distance travelled, the gear in use and other useful information, but also the route on the navigator and anything else we might need.
At present, not many models use it, as for the time being it is reserved for the top versions of some ranges, but it is expected to soon be present in most models. But technology does not stop, and when its use becomes widespread we will probably enjoy technology that enhances this system, such as augmented reality. Shall we watch the video?
