When we think of SUVs with lavish luxury features, one of the first that comes to mind is undoubtedly the BMW X7. This enormous vehicle, measuring 5.15 metres long and boasting the flagship status within BMW’s SUV range, has just received a new special and limited version called BMW X7 Nishijin Edition.

Only three units of this new edition will be built, standing out for their exclusivity and originality, since, to be honest, we are not used to seeing interiors with such a distinctive style created directly by the manufacturer itself.

Elegant and luxurious

Specific details are not only found in the cabin of this BMW X7; its exterior also features a new colour called Ametrine, which is part of the colour palette of BMW Individual. This elegant multi-layer colour, combined with the numerous mouldings, roof rails, window surrounds and attractive wheels, gives it a very distinguished and well-judged appearance.

Inside, the special touch

But as we have already mentioned, the most distinctive part of this new special version is found in its cabin. In fact, the name Nishijin Edition comes from a traditional fabric that runs throughout the interior of this X7, including its mouldings, centre console and armrest, and its roof.

As you can see in the photographs, this fabric, handmade in Kyoto, has a strongly Japanese style, making it a key feature for the three fortunate buyers of these three units imbued with oriental character.

Alongside this distinctive fabric, there are seats trimmed in ivory white leather, which add that touch of high quality that characterises the great models of BMW.

This special edition is based on the X7 xDrive40d in Pure Excellence trim, meaning it features a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine producing 340 CV and 700 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive xDrive. On top of this, there is a 48-volt Mild Hybrid light hybridisation system.
