Brabus CLS C218, for those who can't wait for the CLS63 AMG

The CLS is undoubtedly one of Mercedes-Benz’s biggest commercial successes in recent years. From the very beginning it became an object of desire for the public, thanks to its refined, elegant and attractive design. The new generation, whose final look was unveiled about a month ago, aims to continue the legacy of its predecessor and even raise the bar a little higher.

The images we see here represent a graphic interpretation of what would be one of the already traditional modifications that Brabus makes to the Mercedes range. In this case, the chosen model is the aforementioned CLS. The Brabus CLS C218 is the version designed to compete head-on at the top of this category, where it will face rivals such as the Aston Martin Rapide, the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the upcoming Audi S7.

It is true that in this battlefield we will also have to take into account the version AMG is preparing. With its 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 producing around 525 CV and its 7-speed Speedshift MCT automatic gearbox, the performance we can expect will be considerable: it will reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.5 seconds and exceed 300 km/h top speed, provided the speed limiter is removed.

For the time being we must settle for – and that is no small thing – the exquisite interpretation that Brabus has produced for the most radical version of the CLS, and wait to see what surprises AMG has in store in the coming months. Good times are ahead in the automotive world.
