If you are a fan of Alfa Romeo you will surely be somewhat disappointed with the Italian brand, owned by the Fiat Group, ahead of the Paris Motor Show, as the manufacturer has decided not to present any kind of novelty in the form of a new model or concept.

At least, the group will exhibit on its stands the most recent models in its range, such as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, a model that will be presented with a new diesel engine and a dual-clutch gearbox that the Italian firm has named Alfa TCT.

According to the data provided by the brand, it will be a 2.0-litre JTDm diesel unit with an output of 140 hp, positioned as an intermediate option between the known 105 hp 1.6 and 170 hp 2.0. Thanks to the new technology developed by Fiat, this engine will have a combined consumption of 4.5 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.

The second major novelty that Alfa Romeo will present on the Giulietta is the option of a TCT dual-clutch gearbox which, if I remember correctly, was already introduced some time ago in the MiTo range.

This new gearbox can only be paired with the 1.4 Turbo MultiAir 170 hp engine, although it is expected to be gradually introduced across more versions. One of the most notable points is the figure offered by Alfa Romeo, which states that this gearbox combined with the aforementioned 170 hp petrol engine delivers laughably low emissions of 121 g/km
