Bugatti Chiron Super Sport '57 One of One': a gift for his wife inspired by the Atlantic model

The Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic is one of those models that has left an indelible mark on the automotive world for almost 90 years. This icon, a masterpiece by Jean Bugatti, has not only inspired contemporary Bugatti design, but has also dazzled car lovers as the most valuable and exclusive vehicle on the planet. Now, a passionate customer has taken this admiration to another level, bringing to life his own personal tribute: the ‘57 One of One‘, a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport with a unique touch.

This exclusive model was born from the desire of a woman who loves classics. After visiting the Mullin Automotive Museum two decades ago, she dreamed of owning her own Bugatti. The surprise came on her 70th birthday, when her husband, also a car enthusiast, invited her to Molsheim, France, to configure her personalized Chiron Super Sport. Thus began the story of an exceptional gift that pays homage to the iconic Type 57 SC Atlantic built between 1934 and 1939.

The silver-blue shade that captured her heart at the Mullin Automotive Museum became the essence of the ’57 One of One’. Jascha Straub, the master behind the personalization at Bugatti, followed a strict process to recreate the same emotion the customer felt two decades earlier. He flew to Bilbao, where it was on display at the Guggenheim, studied the paint under various lighting conditions, and ensured that every detail was authentic to the original.

A tribute as well as a gift

The Type 57 SC Atlantic’s distinctive grille has been designed in a horseshoe shape, becoming a crucial point of reference. The Sur Mesure team collaborated with Bugatti engineers to create a new grille with polished vertical lines and a thicker central spine, combining classic aesthetics with the performance and aerodynamic standards characteristic of Bugatti.

The five-spoke Super Sport wheels, blending polished chrome with the distinctive blue, add a vibrant touch, while the underside of the rear spoiler features a hand-drawn silhouette of the Atlantic model, with the letters ’57’ and ‘One of One’.

The interior: personalized elegance

Inside, the customer selected ‘Gaucho’ leather and opted for a timeless colour that further enhances the exterior design. Details such as the Atlantic silhouette hand-stitched in ‘Lightning Blue’ on the door panels and a central console with the custom ’57 One of One’ inlay add a touch of exclusivity. The renowned “Dancing Elephant” sculpture by Rembrandt Bugatti, embroidered on the headrests, symbolizes the family’s passion for animals.

1,600 CV W16 engine

Under the bonnet, the ’57 One of One’ houses the powerful 16-cylinder W16 engine from Bugatti, with 1,600 CV propelling the supercar to a top speed of 440 km/h. With astonishing acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in 5.8 seconds and from 0 to 300 km/h in 12.1 seconds, this exceptional gift combines performance and elegance.

This unique vehicle is not only a tribute to automotive history, but also a testament to luxury and exclusivity. Although the starting price of a Bugatti Chiron is already staggering, at around €2.4 million, the Chiron Super Sport edition, like the ’57 One of One’, stands in a league of its own, exceeding €3.2 million.
