Bugatti is seriously considering offering a hybrid SUV
Bugatti is seriously studying the possibility of joining the SUV craze and expanding its market within this sector. Its bet, as could not be otherwise, will be a high-performance luxury SUV that will use hybrid technology.
Along with Aston Martin and Ferrari, Bugatti is one of the few ultra-luxury brands that has not yet entered the SUV market.
Ferrari and Aston Martin, however, have confirmed the DBX and the Purosangue respectively, both crossovers, unlike Bugatti, which has not yet made any official confirmation.
It seems that things could change in the near future. Thanks to the Paris Auto Show, the company’s president has admitted that they are seriously considering the possibility of adding an SUV to their vehicle lineup.

In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Stephan Winkelmann, president of Bugatti, admitted that his company could be very close to building an SUV to enter this market segment.
“The brand is ready for more, ready to expand. The W16 engine is the company’s main image today, but it cannot last forever.”
The SUV, of course, would have to achieve the level of quality that corresponds to Bugatti to earn its badge, and, on the other hand, it will have to have a “reasonable” price relative to the competition in the segment.
In the president’s words:
“We need to find a suitable market niche to justify this new investment. We also want to show the world our concern and dedication to the environment, by producing vehicles that comply with the new emissions regulations.”
These statements mean that we will not see an SUV from Bugatti with a W16 engine. To replace it, a hybrid engine will be the protagonist of the new vehicle, thanks to which it will be easy to comply with the emissions regulations.

The executive has stated that the range of chassis and engine variants is being discussed, and unfortunately has not given further details. We will see what this luxury brand surprises us with in the future.
