Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse La Finale, the end of the story

Bugatti has announced that, at long last, all 450 units of the Bugatti Veyron production run have been sold. To celebrate this milestone, the brand has decided to give the final unit an exclusive livery, naming it “La Finale”.

It’s official. All 450 units produced of the Bugatti Veyron have now been sold. It has taken quite a while, but production of this hypercar is coming to an end.

And to mark the occasion, Bugatti has decided to give the last unit a unique livery, naming it “La Finale”.

It has taken practically exactly 10 years for the VW Group to sell the 450 units of the Bugatti Veyron, a revolutionary model that marked a before and after in automotive history and will always be remembered as a true “record breaker”, both in terms of performance and economically.

The Veyron, whose conception dates back to the early 21st century, went on sale in 2005 with the firm aim of beating every record set until then in the field of road cars. Under that aerodynamic, rounded bodywork lay a formidable 8-litre W16 engine, supercharged by four turbochargers, producing no less than 1001 CV and 1250 Nm. Paired with a dual-clutch transmission with 7 speeds, it could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach 300 km/h from a standstill in under 14. Without a doubt, the figure that impressed most was its top speed, rated at 407 km/h.

The selling price of each unit exceeded one million euros, reaching 2 million on some special editions. In 2010 an evolution called Super Sport was launched, with various technical and mechanical adjustments that raised the power to 1200 CV, and improved the top speed figure, which reached 415 km/h, electronically limited to protect the tyres, although during circuit testing it reached 431 km/h.

Now it is time to say goodbye to this true titan of the 21st century, and for “La Finale” Bugatti has decided to prepare a special livery that makes it clearly visible that this is the last unit. It has been purchased by some Emirati multimillionaire, and before its handover it will be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
