Carlex Design enters the restomod world with this restored Jaguar XJ-C
The ‘restomod’ trend is growing, and more and more customizers are focusing their work on this kind of restoration and recovery of classic cars.

The restomod market, the restoration and upgrading of classic vehicles, is booming. More and more companies are dedicated to bringing classic models up to date. Carlex Design has just shown all the work carried out on a Jaguar XJ-C, which has been restored by the professionals of the Polish customizer.
The Jaguar XJ-C was a vehicle with a very limited production. It was launched in 1975 and was only on the market for three years. During that time 10,426 units were manufactured, and its production was discontinued. So there are few vehicles of this model, and with Carlex’s work, a car has been created that can attract buyers looking for this type of car.

Aesthetic changes
This variant has some aesthetic changes that update its exterior look. The first thing we notice is the glossy finish of the bodywork, which gives it a more elegant look. The edges and corners of the original model have been softened, bringing its visual appearance up to date.

The front keeps the headlights in their original shape, but these add LED technology. The light signature is combined with a front grille of renewed, larger and thoroughly modern design. The suspension has been revised and sits lower to the ground than the original model.
The wheel arches are large and the wheels feature a closed design, although their size has not been disclosed. At the rear it has a slim bumper in the same colour as the bodywork. The rear lights are tinted and the boot features the brand emblem.
At this point, the roll cage bars that protect the interior can be seen. Work has also been done in this area, bringing the car’s equipment up to date. The instrumentation appears to have been replaced by a digital block. The centre console has been redesigned to house a multimedia system, something that did not exist at the time the model was launched.
The seats have a very attractive appearance, covered in aged leather upholstery. Overall, the interior of this Jaguar XJ-C is quite striking and tastefully done.
Engine
The Jaguar XJ-C used a V12 engine, but in this renovated version a V8 engine has been chosen, of which no other data is known apart from its power. The company has reported that it delivers 400 CV, a figure that is far from negligible and that almost doubles the 261 CV of the original model.
There is still much to learn about this restored model, details that will become known when the car reaches its owner or when Carlex Design makes them public.
