Caught testing a Porsche at 297 km/h on the R-4 in Madrid

A driver was arrested by the Guardia Civil Traffic unit after triggering a mobile speed camera at 297 km/h while driving a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. The officers were not even able to clearly make out the car’s colour. The incident took place yesterday morning on the R-4 toll motorway in the direction of Madrid, when a driver at the wheel of a Porsche Carrera set what the authorities believe is a record for speeding (at least that is their understanding) by passing a radar at 297 km/h, more than double the permitted limit.
Once the officers set up a checkpoint to stop him, they found that the driver was test-driving the Porsche (owned by the brand), reportedly with a view to buying it. He had a licence with no points and was also a person with reduced mobility who cannot drive faster than 100 km/h and would have to do so in an adapted vehicle. A wheelchair was needed during the arrest, as the Guardia Civil reported, and he is being charged with an offence against road safety.
