Chevrolet Camaro Rapid Blue Edition, only 20 units for Japan

Special editions of popular models, aimed at niche markets, are something that is quite common. In Japan there are usually several versions of this kind, designed for a limited number of buyers. The Chevrolet Camaro does not tend to be very successful beyond the borders of the United States, although a special edition has just been launched for fans of this model in the Asian country.

This special version of the Camaro is based on the Camaro LT RS, which is already a fairly powerful and impressive version. As its name suggests, it features an exclusive light blue body colour. It comes in the exterior shade Rapid Blue with black stripes and 20-inch alloy wheels, which are also found on the Camaro LT RS.

Inside, white upholstery contrasted with black leather has been chosen, which fits the overall look of the model very well. There are few other changes compared with the base Camaro LT RS. Under the bonnet is the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, which delivers 271 CV and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The rest of the specifications remain the same as the model it is based on. The price of this special edition is 6.6 million euros, which is roughly 46,000 euros at current exchange rates. The difference with the regular LT RS is just over 2,000 euros, which is not very high.

Although limited to just 20 units, this version is more affordable than the SS version, which is equipped with a V8 engine and costs 8.7 million euros, roughly 56,000 euros at current exchange rates. Deliveries of these 20 units will begin in December 2022, and interested buyers will be able to test drive the car during an event held from 23 to 25 September. Along with the car, buyers will receive a Camaro Original Canvas Tote, featuring a manga-style illustration.
