Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, more information and data

Chevrolet has something very special in store for us for early 2012: none other than the most brutal version of the untameable Camaro, a version called ZL1, which apparently will finally be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where the brand will perhaps show what could be one of the most eye-catching vehicles at the event.

Among the most notable details, there are undoubtedly two weighty arguments, 580 horsepower and 753 Nm of peak torque, a considerable increase in power over the SS version. To achieve this, the people at Chevrolet have simply taken the engine block fitted to the Cadillac CTS-V and, not shy in the slightest, decided to boost it through improvements to the intake system, compression and exhaust.

As is only logical, the vehicle has not only been improved with a new block, but new elements have also been installed, such as an oil heat exchanger and a much deeper sump to avoid problems when cornering at high speed. Furthermore, the MagnaRide suspension has been improved with dual springs.

It is also worth highlighting the implementation and installation of a new traction control system that now offers five different modes which, combined with a chassis reinforced at multiple points and a much-improved braking system signed by Brembo, will make this vehicle a sports car to be reckoned with.
