Chevrolet mistakenly publishes photos of the 2016 Camaro Convertible

On May 15, the American television network CNBC spoiled the mystery for Chevrolet by broadcasting images of the 2016 Camaro hours before its presentation. General Motors’ manufacturer wanted to redeem itself with the convertible bodywork, but it has not managed to do so either, and this time it will have to admit its mistake. Yesterday, photographs of the 2016 Camaro Convertible were published on its own official website -they have already been removed- just after its unveiling had been scheduled.
Chevrolet will hold it tomorrow -a somewhat ill-advised counter-programming against that of the Giulia- and two days later, on Friday the 26th, it will appear as a guest star at Goodwood. The brand announces it as a “surprise delivery” from Detroit for the British event, with a video you can watch after the jump.

The sixth generation of the Camaro Convertible respects the roofline of the closed body less than the fifth did. With the top down, it is clear that it departs from the distinctive shape the C-pillar takes on the Coupé and adopts a more conventional one. In addition, the distinctive oblique styling line over the rear fenders disappears and is replaced by another, equally pronounced one, though in a higher position.
Despite these differences, the new Camaro Convertible will continue to have a very striking presence, more athletic than the previous model. Chevrolet announced yesterday that its design conveys dynamism even with the car stationary and the top lowered. It also described it as the “most innovative” convertible Camaro in its history, although on this point it will need to elaborate further in the official press release it will issue tomorrow.
