Classic style: the new Porsche 911 Targa

Porsche has unveiled, in a final and definitive way, the new versions of its most iconic and recognisable model, the 911.
These are the 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S, the alternatives for those drivers who want the sensations of a convertible without the drawbacks of a soft top.
Without a doubt, the most striking aspect of the new 911 Targa is the design. After the last three generations (993, 996 and 997) turned the Targa version into something of a semi-convertible with a panoramic glass roof, this time the 911 Targa returns to its origins.

This new generation, the 991, takes up the completely classic style of the first generations, with a glass panel running the full width of the rear of the cabin, combined with a fabric roof covering the front seats.
If the occupants want more sensation, they only need to press a button for the fabric part to fold electrically, stowing beneath the Targa roof in around 19 seconds.

Without a doubt, the silhouette of the 911 Targa is very eye-catching, with very fresh and sporty lines that break with the classic designs of the last 911s. It vaguely recalls a special edition based on the previous generation, called the 911 Speedster, which was produced in a very limited run.
The interior remains unchanged, so its fortunate occupants will continue to enjoy a cosy cabin with high-quality materials, as well as plenty of multimedia and safety equipment.

In terms of technical specifications, the guys at Porsche have chosen to offer the Targa exclusively with all-wheel drive, in two versions: Targa 4 and Targa 4S. The first features a 3.4-litre engine, of course with a 6-cylinder flat-six layout, producing 350 CV of power. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with the PDK double-clutch automatic gearbox, reaching a top speed of 282 km/h.
The other version, Targa 4S, mounts a 3.8-litre engine with 400 CV, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaching 295 km/h. Prices for the 911 Targa start from 125,000 euros.
