Clive Sutton, the London-based tuning specialist, presents the CS800 DH Mustang, a tuning package based on the Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Clive Sutton is an English tuner based in London with 40 years of experience tuning high-end vehicles, from sports cars to SUVs and 4x4s, whether of American or European origin. Over that long career, major European brands such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes, as well as American ones such as Ford, Dodge and Chevrolet, have passed through its workshops, earning it a place as one of the best-known names in the sector.

Its new proposal comes from one of the last modern American sports cars that still fit a pure, no-nonsense V8 engine: the Ford Mustang in its Dark Horse version, which Clive Sutton has given its own personal touch and, of course, a spectacular power increase that puts it practically on a par with other tuning projects such as Hennessey’s H850 Mustang Dark Horse.

The CS800 DH Mustang, as it has been named, still houses the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated Coyote V8 under its bonnet, which, remember, in completely standard form delivers 453 CV at 7,250 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 5,100 rpm, figures that are far surpassed thanks to the changes made by Clive Sutton. To achieve this, a Whipple supercharger has been fitted, along with a four-outlet exhaust created and customised by Clive Sutton, plus an MGW short-throw gear lever. These changes mean it now delivers 799 CV at 6,700 rpm and 870 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm.

The changes introduced by Clive Sutton are not limited to the engine: the bodywork has also received various aerodynamic components such as the front splitter, side skirts, a more aggressive rear diffuser and the surrounds for the headlights, all made from carbon fibre, as are the bonnet and the 1,580 mm-wide rear spoiler. From the side, a lower ride height is also noticeable thanks to the MagneRide suspension, which is stiffer than the standard setup, along with bronze-finish wheels from Vossen, model HF5, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres.

The interior of the CS800 DH Mustang also gets changes, although these are optional if the customer requests them. In this case, completely new upholstery can be specified in the colour of your choice, for the Alcantara roof lining as well as the dashboard, door panels, centre console and seats, which can be replaced with Recaro bucket seats featuring electric adjustment as well as heating and ventilation.
