Production of the new Skoda Fabia begins, the fourth generation is just around the corner
The new generation of the Fabia brings numerous novelties in its design, equipment, interior and a large number of safety and assistance systems

The Skoda Fabia is one of the best-selling models of the Czech brand, specifically the second best-selling after the Octavia. It has been with us since 1999, the year the first generation of the compact was presented. Over these twenty-two years, more than 4.5 million units have been sold across its first, second and third generations.
Today it is the turn of the fourth generation of the Fabia, which is being manufactured at the Skoda plant in Mladá Boleslav, a plant that has been modified and expanded with an investment of more than 110 million euros to accommodate the production of the small compact. It is a car that for the first time is based on the MQB-A0 platform of the Volkswagen Group, the same platform that underpins its group siblings, the Seat Ibiza and the Volkswagen Polo.

Larger dimensions: more space and comfort
Being built on this platform has allowed it to grow in size. It now measures 4,108 mm in length and 1,780 mm in width, which has also allowed boot capacity to increase by 50 litres, now reaching 380 litres and up to 1,190 litres with the rear seats folded down.
The front of the new Skoda Fabia features new headlights with LED technology as standard, combined with a large grille in the design language the Czech brand has accustomed us to with its latest models such as the new Skoda Octavia, the Kodiaq and the Enyaq. Its bumper has a sportier design, and its bonnet follows the same design line as the previous generation.

New looks
The side features a style line running along the upper part of the doors, starting from the headlight and ending at the rear light. In addition, the lower part of the doors has another rib that gives it great character. In its options catalogue, Skoda offers the possibility of fitting alloy wheels from 15 inches, which are standard equipment, and nine more designs ranging between 15 and 18 inches, including the Libra, reserved for its best-equipped version.
Its rear has new LED rear lights, a new bumper and a small black spoiler, continuing the sportier aesthetic that this fourth generation features.

Skoda offers nine body colour options, including Phoenix Orange, the star of our photographs, and the new Graphite Grey, which together with the aforementioned orange debut on this fourth generation.
An interior full of novelties
Inside, we find a new 9.2-inch infotainment system with compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto if we choose the Amundsen package, 8-inch if we choose the Bolero, or 6.5 if we opt for the most basic, the Swing.
In addition, for its best-equipped versions, there is a digital instrument cluster of 10.25 inches. Beyond the more technological aspects, other novelties are also included, such as a heated steering wheel, LED ambient lighting and a comprehensive safety package with the latest systems on the market.

One of the strong points of the new Fabia is a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.28, which, combined with the 50-litre fuel tank and its range of highly efficient engines, allows it to achieve a range of up to 900 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.
Skoda offers five different engines in its range of latest-generation EVO units, ranging from 65 to 150 CV. We will expand on the full range and prices of this fourth generation of the best-seller later on, courtesy of Skoda.
