Dacia announces its first MPV, the Lodgy
The road version still shows similarities with the Renault Scénic, although the final design opts for more discreet lines. It will keep the strengths of the cabin.

The Dacia family was due to grow this year, so Renault did not want to wait long to make this new member official. It is the Lodgy, an MPV that was previewed in 2011 with competition clothing and now appears in its street outfit. As we commented at the time, it will be presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
If its sporty personality already hinted that the Dacia Lodgy bore more than passing resemblance to the Renault Scénic, in the road version these are even more visible. The variant shown in the first images is the seven-seater body and therefore inherits the style of the Grand Scénic. However, there will also be a five-seat version, just as happens with the models from the French diamond brand.

Fortunately, Renault has made sure the Lodgy does not get too close to its own products, so the design is sufficiently differentiated. What is surprising is that the final result also does not look like a Dacia but like a brand from a higher rung of the segment. Its front end has very smooth and elegant shapes, with a very high bonnet for pedestrian protection, a wide windscreen to improve visibility and a well-integrated grille in the centre.
The rear is somewhat more distinctive, as the tailgate looks more like an enlarged version of a Logan MCV, although the rear lights are not to be underestimated. Even so, Dacia points out in its statement that the essence of the Lodgy is its cabin. Like its other products, it will feature robust materials, a very functional layout and generous space, all accommodated within the model’s total length of 4.5 metres. It has not yet said a word about engines, equipment or prices, so let’s wait for the Swiss show.
