Detroit Show 2012: Lexus LF-LC

The Lexus LF-LC was presented in all its glory in Detroit, combining a truly groundbreaking design with the latest hybrid technology.

There is little doubt that the Lexus LF-LC is one of the most spectacular concepts unveiled at the opening of the NAIAS. To confirm it, a few days ago we brought you a fairly complete gallery, in case you want to start whetting your appetite. According to what the representatives of Lexus said at the show, the LF-LC Concept is the successor they intend to give to the CT and GS.

It goes without saying that these last two models have already started to take shape based on this concept, which combines a truly breathtaking look with the cutting-edge technology the brand has developed around its hybrid powertrains.

The design that Lexus has created for the interior of this concept is particularly interesting. Rounded shapes predominate, starting from the very base of the dashboard and continuing through the centre console and the door interiors. The instrument cluster is as novel as it is unusual, entrusting everything to digital gauges and a large central liquid-crystal speedometer.

But let’s not celebrate just yet, since, as is normal in these cases, we will not see much of what we see now later on; the large glazed surface, the general interior design and even less the use of materials derived from organic raw materials in the interior’s composition will not have a guaranteed path to a production model, if there is one at all. The most likely outcome is that the LF-LC will be a model for the next generations of Lexus coupés.
