DFSK Seres SF5: the arrival date of the second Chinese electric model is already set

Following the Spanish launch of the DFSK Seres 3, the Chinese company has revealed that the Seres SF5, larger and better equipped, will arrive in the summer.

Seres Sf5 2021

Yesterday we met the first DFSK electric vehicle to arrive in Spain, the Seres 3. It is an electric SUV that you can learn about by reading our article on everything we know about this model. But it will not be the only electric model from the Chinese brand to reach the Spanish market this year. This summer the DFSK Seres SF5 will go on sale.

It is a model that the company itself describes as a premium SUV, positioned one step above the Seres 3. But this only applies in terms of size, being considerably larger than its newly launched sibling, because in other respects, such as range or equipment, it is clearly superior.

A premium SUV

This D-segment SUV boasts dimensions of 4.70 metres and is equipped with an electric motor delivering a power output of 510 kW, a figure equivalent to 694 CV. With an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h, it can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

The battery powering the motor has a capacity of 90 kWh, which will allow it to achieve a range of 500 kilometres under the NEDC cycle. With these characteristics, this model positions itself as a rival to the Tesla Model Y Performance, which, although it has less power, offers similar range and features.

The company wants to keep offering alternatives within this model line, so it is preparing a variant that will feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine acting as a range extender. This will mean the battery is replaced by a 35 kWh unit, which will provide a range of 150 kilometres. Admittedly, with the combustion engine generating electricity, this range will reach 1,000 kilometres, also under the NEDC cycle.

According to the brand, this variant will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 255 km/h. This second electric model from the brand in Spain will soon join its range, so although we do not hear much about it yet, it will soon be common to see its models on the streets.
