Discover the Aria FXE, the new American supercar

The Los Angeles Auto Show is showing us many truly interesting new developments. Some of them are new versions of production models, others are concept models or even ones made for advertising purposes, but there are also some supercar models that want to enter the market in earnest. That is the case of the Aria FXE, a supercar with American design and development that has been presented at the Californian event.

This supercar comes from Aria Group, a company that has collaborated with various brands to design concept cars, most of them with technology and a futuristic look. Now they have prepared this model, which offers that image so characteristic of a car of this style, with a design very distinctive within this range and aimed at delivering outstanding performance.

To achieve this, a monocoque chassis made of carbon fibre has been used, a material that also shapes the bodywork. In this way a low weight has been achieved, which allows its engine to make the model compete with the great European supercars. Not much has been revealed about the characteristics of this model, but we know it will be available in two configurations.

The first is called the Aria FE and will feature a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine. There is no data on the power output of this engine. We know it will be paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox that transmits the engine’s power to the rear axle.

But the most radical version of the model is the one named Aria FXE, which uses the same engine as the more restrained version, but whose power output we know: 720 CV. To this power is added that provided by the two electric motors, which together contribute 540 CV, delivered to the front axle. This adds up to 1,195 CV and a torque of 1,800 Nm.

These figures allow the Aria FXE to reach 435 km/h and to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Electricity comes from a 10 kWh battery located behind the two seats it is fitted with. It can be recharged from a domestic plug and allows the car to cover several kilometres without burning any fuel.

Although it has already been seen in person, it remains a concept model and there is still a year to go before it reaches the market. That said, only 400 units will be built, so those who want to enjoy this spectacular made-in-USA supercar will have to hurry and start saving the million dollars each one will cost, approximately.
