Discover the Kia Sportage X-Men: Apocalypse version
Kia has unveiled the second vehicle based on the Fox X-Men film saga, inspired by the new instalment set to hit cinemas in May 2016 and by the character of Mystique. It will also serve as the basis for television spots starring Rafael Nadal

Cinema and motoring seem to have gone hand in hand for years. There is no better promotion for a car than appearing in a film, driven by the hero… or the villain. This is the case, for example, of the James Bond films, whose cars are simply spectacular and are used in those films to launch them onto the market. Another variation on this could be presenting a car based on film characters, as recently happened with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where we saw some spots paying tribute to the galactic saga or to car customisations depicting characters from it.
Now it is the turn of the Marvel mutants, since Fox is preparing for next year X-Men: Apocalypse, which is said to be the penultimate film of this stage of the characters, and for this they have also prepared a car “dressed” as one of the saga’s characters, Mystique, who in this film is once again played by Jennifer Lawrence. The car is a Kia Sportage, in the X-Car version.

The bodywork of this model imitates the character’s distinctive skin, in blue, which allows her to change her appearance. The Sportage that will face the film’s villain, Apocalypse, will be driven by Rafa Nadal, the brand’s global ambassador, who also drove the previous model in the series, with which the premiere of X-Men: Days of Future Past was celebrated. On that occasion it was a Sorento, styled as the popular Wolverine.
This model uses a textured blue paint, with the “tone-on-tone” technique, both glossy and matt, and it also features competition alloy wheels and tyres. Red and yellow elements can also be found on the bodywork elements in red and yellow, so that it stands out a little more.
It will be shown to the public during the 2016 Australian Open, which will take place from 18 to 31 January. There, fans of the film saga will be able to take photos with the car. It will then begin its tour of motor shows around the world. With this car, the collaboration between Fox and Kia is strengthened, which will possibly give us some more good news, in the form of a tuned car. What do you think of this cinematic version of the Kia Sportage?
