Does BMW want to add a triple turbo to the X3's M Performance package?

On one hand, let’s say BMW is paying too much attention to its SUVs (perhaps more than it should), but the expectation that a triple-turbo X3 could create catches the attention of even the most indifferent buyer, compared with the X5, X6, or the X3 itself.
With the X3’s inline six, coupled with the triple turbo, we would be talking about the X3 comfortably reaching 450 horsepower. Even more striking is that the upcoming M3 would use the same configuration, since its engine will be similar to the X3’s, although in the X3 200 cc would be added to the three-litre, bringing it to 3.2 litres.
To understand a little how the three turbos are arranged, the system would consist of two conventional turbos, with the third being electric. In this way, the electric turbo would provide low-pressure boost when the engine is at idle or at very low RPM, helping to eliminate turbo lag.
As for future versions of its M Series siblings, both the X5 and the X6 will gain some power from their powerplants, which will remain the same: the twin-turbo V8 engines. Output is reportedly around 564 horsepower.
