Dongfeng DFSK 580, the Chinese seven-seat SUV on sale in Spain that you didn't know about
For a few weeks now, a seven-seat SUV has been available on the Spanish market at a very attractive price, although it is not especially well known

Seven-seat SUVs are becoming increasingly popular and occupy a fairly prominent place among crossovers. Brands are looking to position their models in this segment, and there are a few surprises. Almost unnoticed, Dongfeng has begun selling in Spain a model designed to fill a gap in our market. It is the Dongfeng DFSK 580, a truly affordable seven-seat SUV.
This model is distributed in our country by Distribuidora DFSK Hispania, a subsidiary of the majority shareholder of the PSA Group. The DFSK 580 SUV, which at first glance does not have a very appealing name, has become a good option for those who want an efficient SUV with plenty of space and, above all, very low running costs.

In this case, the bodywork measures 4.68 metres in length, 1.85 metres in width and 1.71 metres in height. The generous interior space is the result of a wheelbase of 2.78 metres. Inside, it comes with fairly interesting equipment, including keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, a rear camera, parking sensors, heated mirrors, a sunroof and a multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, featuring a 9-inch screen.

It is available in two versions, Luxury and Intelligent. The second adds a slightly larger 11-inch multimedia screen, LED headlights, a 360º camera and a panoramic sunroof. One drawback of this model is the scarcity of protection and driver-assistance systems, although they are sufficient for driving with confidence.
In this regard, it offers electronic assistance for emergency braking, electronic brake force distribution, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring, a rear camera with sensor and a speed limiter.
As for the engine, the Dongfeng DFSK 580 uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 146 CV. The engine is paired with a six-speed CVT automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive, with no all-wheel-drive version available at present.
Importantly, this petrol unit can be adapted to run on LPG as well, and CNG can also be used. With either option, the Chinese SUV can carry the DGT ECO label. In terms of price, the entry-level Luxury version costs 23,995 euros, while the Intelligent version rises to 25,995 euros.
