The premium French brand’s SUV is now available, offering among other engines a very efficient PureTech engine with plenty of power to enjoy.

The range of DS models starts with the new DS 3 Sportback, which, after several months of preparation for its arrival, finally has a launch price in our country. The DS models stem from a range from Citroën that has managed to separate itself from the main brand, and which today represents a premium brand positioned above the standard models of its parent brand. And to explore everything DS has to offer, we find this model.

It is the entry-level range, but that does not mean it offers less than we might expect from a brand that prides itself on elegance, functionality and style. And all that style is reflected on the exterior, which keeps the design touches that make it stand out, and on the interior, where occupants will be comfortable and cosy on every journey.

Engines of the DS 3 Crossback

And part of that distinctiveness is present in the engines this model will use. To meet all the needs and tastes of drivers, the DS 3 Crossback will offer petrol, diesel and even a fully electric variant, which will help keep harmful emissions below the limits.

One of the most recommended engines is the 1.2 PureTech unit, a three-cylinder that comes in two power outputs. The first produces 100 CV and a maximum torque of 205 Nm, while the second tune delivers 130 CV and 230 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the first accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, while the 130 CV version does so in 9.2 seconds.

While the 100 CV version only accepts a 6-speed manual gearbox, the higher trim can also be paired with an EAT8 automatic gearbox, which improves its performance. Consumption is also appealing: with the 1.2-litre PureTech engine a combined consumption of 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres is achieved, and 6 litres per 100 kilometres, all on the WLTP cycle.

Prices for the entry-level DS 3 variant start at 24,450 euros for the 100 CV petrol version, and it will be available in five trim levels: Be Chic, So Chic, Performance Line, Connected Chic and Grand Chic. Prices for the other engine options will follow a little later.
